Earlier today, Super Junior performed their latest song “Mr. Simple” live on SBS’s “Inkigayo.” Tonight’s show marked Heechul’s last performance before he enlists in the Korean Army on Thursday, September 1st. Unfortunately, Choi Si Won could not be part of the emotional stage because he was busy filming his upcoming drama “Poseidon.” Despite sustaining an injury while shooting "Dream Team 2," Donghae joined the members onstage and sang sitting on a chair. Meanwhile, Super Junior received their second consecutive Mutizen Award on “Inkigayo.”
Super Junior’s leader Leeteuk cried as he gave his thank you speech and expressed his sorrow at Heechul’s temporary withdrawal from the group. Leeteuk tearfully stated, “Thank you all for giving us such a huge award. Thank you to all of our SM family, and I wanted to say thank you Heechul, and I love you.”
Heechul added, “Today was my last performance, and I wanted to say thanks to our Super Junior members. I’m thankful to my fellow younger members for always following me and my friend, Jungsoo (Leeteuk), for always smiling through difficult times. Thank you to all of our managers and crew for putting up with my bad temper. Lastly, I love our fans. I’ll come back safely, stay healthy!”
Meanwhile, today’s episode of “Inkigayo” showcased the talents of Super Junior, miss A, SISTAR, INFINITE, G.NA, MBLAQ, T-Ara, Teen Top, Dal Shabet, Hwanhee, NS Yoonji, CS Numbers, Nine Muses, Stellar, and HITT. Check out the performances here!
