Big Bang’s second full Japanese album “Big Bang 2” has taken the top spot on Japan’s Oricon Weekly Chart, YG Entertainment said today. Released on May 11th, “Big Bang 2” was the highest selling record in Japan last week with a total of 65,000 copies, becoming the group’s first album to reach #1 on Japan’s most prestigious weekly music chart. Their debut album in Japan went as high as #2 on the Oricon Daily Album Charts in 2009. Also, today’s achievement made Big Bang the third Korean artist to top the Oricon Weekly Charts since DBSK’s Best Album and JYJ’s “The..” album.
“It feels more special to hear this news during our Japanese Tour. I would like to go for #1 on monthly charts too,” G-Dragon said in a statement. Tae Yang added, “I’d also like to go for #1 on the monthly chart, but more than anything, I’d like to maintain our focus from the beginning and continue working hard.”
“Big Bang 2” comes with a total of 10 tracks including “Koeo Kikasete,” “Tell Me Goodbye,” “Tonight,” and “Love Song.” Big Bang has sold out every concert to their “Love & Hope” Japanese Tour, where they are visiting three cities over 10 days. http://www.soompi.com/news/big-bang-takes-1-on-oricon-weekly-chart-for-first-time
