YG Fans in Malaysia Show Off Their Dance Moves for YG Entertainment

Over 400 fans of artists from YG Entertainment gathered together at the outdoor foyer of One Utama to celebrate Halo! YG Day, a collaboration between Halo Music Malaysia and YG Entertainment, and presented by DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd. It was held on June 25, Saturday. This event was held to show to YG Entertainment artists that they are loved here and there is a big demand for YG artists here in Malaysia,

Halo! YG Day, was a fun filled day for fans as they saw the top 10 dance crews and solo acts perform to their favourite YG Family stars' music in a dance competition. Fans also got a chance to take part in various pop quizzes and won vouchers from Daorae Korean Restaurant plus personalized greeting cards from SE7EN, 2NE1 and BIGBANG members.

The best dance crew as voted by high-calibre judges Lucy Leong, operations director of Red.fm; SuAnne Chong, official k-pop dance instructor for KTO and backup dancer to K-pop stars; and Nikki Cheang, veteran dance judge; were the dance crew Ruffneckz. The crew pulled out all the stops and even gave the audience some guitar-smashing action as part of their routine. Runner ups were crowd favourite, Chrome L and twin duo cUrFs.

2NE1 to Hold 1st Concert on 27th & 28th August

Three years after 2NE1's debut, it's finally time for the girls to hold their first very own solo concert. This concert, entitled "2011 2NE1 1ST CONCERT", will take place at the Olympic Hall inside the Olympic Park on 2 separate dates, one on 27th August at 6 p.m. (KST) and the other one on 28th August at 7 p.m. (KST).
Reserving tickets for the event will start on 7th July at 8 p.m. (KST), and you will be able to pre-order them only on G-Market.

YG Entertainment described 2NE1's upcoming concert, "They (2NE1) will be having dynamic stages that have never been done before by other girl groups, and we are planning to really heat up the concert hall. SNSD Joins the list of Taiwan's "100 Sexiest Women:

SNSD joined the list of the '100 Sexiest Women in the World'.

Every year FHM Taiwan makes a poll about sexiest women in the world. This year SNSD got the 4th place with 28,201 votes.

The girls were even able to beat some of the hottest Hollywood stars that are known for their beauty

Japan’s Top Girl Group Applaud SNSD’s Live Concert in Tokyo

Japan’s top girl group AKB48 praised SNSD after attending the “2011 Girls’ Generation Arena Tour” in Tokyo held on June 18^th.

"We just returned from SNSD’s live concert (in Japan). It gave us a lot of new lessons. In particular, we were shocked by their skilled choreography and colorful style. We already surrendered,” Kikuchi Ayaka of AKB48 wrote on their blog.

Fellow AKB48 member Aika Oota added, “They were so adorable. I was really touched and had a great time. They (SNSD) have nine different members, yet their performance was so organized, and I was really impressed.”

Another AKB48 member Hirazima Natumi praised the Korean girl group saying, “Just from the beginning, the aura was amazing and it gave me chills. Three hours past by so fast. We want to give a live performance as good as SNSD.”

The Japanese girl group also released backstage photos taken with SNSD, where some members were seen holding gifts as well.

Meanwhile, SNSD will return to Korea and hold the “2011 Girls Generation Tour” in Seoul on July 23^rd and 24^th.

SHINee Performs Without Jonghyun Because of His High Fever

Soompi recently reported that SHINee would be making K-Pop history by performing at the world-renowned Abbey Road. The premier reception was going as planned, but shortly after the rehearsal, Jonghyun and the SME staff decided that it would be best for Jonghyun's health for him to rest during this occasion. SM staff writes:

"5 members of SHINee were planning to perform the best stage for the debut in Japan, but JONGHYUN couldn’t participate in the LIVE Stage because of high fever. Thus SM staff decided to open the LIVE Stage with only 4 members. This decision is made for JONGHYUN’s health so we ask for your understanding regarding this matter.

Also relay of ‘SHINee JAPAN DEBUT PREMIUM RECEPTION in LONDON’ in FACEBOOK SMTOWN will be postponed due to the situation. However, our staff will upload some parts of the LIVE Stage (video) as soon as possible (photos will be uploaded continuously).

We hope everyone can cheer JONGHYUN up and wish him all the best for a speedy recovery.

Thankfully, SHINee finished their stage safely and successfully, and SM staff asked fans to please pray for Jonghyun's speed receovery.

Korean Version of Big Bang's "Big Show 2011 DVD" to be Released

Not long ago an article was written regarding the highly anticipated Big Bang Big Show 2011 DVD.  The only problem was the information given was for the Japanese version.  There hadn’t been news regarding the Korean version of the DVD, which many had found odd.  Why would they release a Japanese edition before the Korean edition?  It would make sense for them to release the "Love and Hope DVD" in Japan before they did in Korea since it was a Japanese concert.  Anyway, all speculation can be put aside since now VIPs won’t have to wait much longer!

The Korean version is slightly different than the Japanese counterpart.  For one, in the Japanese edition there are three discs, whereas the Korean version will have just two.  Not to worry, “Secret Big Bang” along with the multi-angle function will be available in this edition as well.  The three disc Japan DVD set would cost an arm and a leg, as it is said to be going for close to $100 and that’s not even including shipping for those fans who live overseas.  The Korean DVD will feature Korean and English language subtitles which the Japanese DVD may not. On the other hand the Korean edition is much more reasonable as for the asking price being 29,700원, which is approximately $27.00, according to the YGeShop.

Jung Yong Hwa’s “Heartstrings'” Fans Wow Producers

With still two weeks until its official premiere, “Heartstrings,” starring CNBlue’s Jung Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye, received much attention from fans domestically and internationally. Devoted fans created various posters, fan arts, and previews using their imaginations while eagerly waiting for June 29th. These artworks have impressed both the  production crew and fans with their sense of quality and dedication.  

Hallyu stars Jung Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye already have a huge fan base from their trendy drama “You’re Beautiful” in 2009 with actor Jang Geun Suk and FT Island’s Lee Hong Ki. The four were part of the fictional, yet highly popular boy band A.N. Jell. Many Shin Woo (Jung Yong Hwa) and Mi Nam’s (Park Shin Hye) avid fans were left feeling empty-handed as Mi Nam ended up with Hwang Tae Kyung (Jang Geun Suk).  “Heartstrings” comes as a sweet consolation to those fans as they will finally see the two actors “made for each other.” For approximately two months, these two young actors will light up the small screen with their perfect on-screen chemistry once again. 

The drama is full of young and beautiful cast; and they also include Song Chang Ui, So Yi Hyun, Woori, and fellow CNBlue member Kang Min Hyuk. “Heartstrings” is Kang Min Hyuk’s second try in acting. He impressed viewers with his ability to act in last year’s “It’s Okay, Daddy’s Girl” with actress Moon Chae Won of “Brilliant Legacy” (aka “Shining Inheritance”). In this upcoming drama, Kang Min Hyuk will play a member of Lee Shin’s (Jung Yong Hwa) band of pretty boy musicians, named the Stupid. During a recent interview, he stated, “I was able act more comfortably and naturally because my character and the context of the story are just like our CNBlue days.” 

Melodrama “Heartstrings is about young love, friendships, and dreams. It’s a family friendly drama that can be enjoyed by viewers of any age. Additionally, it’s produced by hit maker Pyo Min So, the mastermind behindsensational dramas like “Full House,” (2004) starring Jung Ji Hoon (aka Rain) and Song Hye Gyo, “What Star Are You From,” (2006) starring Jung Ryeo Won and Kim Rae Won, and “The World They Live In(2008),” starring Hyun Bin and Song Hye Gyo. “Heartstrings” will premiere June 29th on MBC following “The Greatest Love.”

The sky will be owned by Super Junior in no time since fans keep buying them stars.

Not long ago we reported that Italian ELFs got the for the boys the 'Star SAPPHIRE BLUE 15'. Now it is the time for Argentinian fans to get the boys a new one on the sky.

The name this time is 'Everlasting Love' and it as anticipated present for Super Junior's 6th anniversary. The fans want to show their love for the 15 boys who have been part of the band and want to tell them they are here, and ELFs will always keep their promise of never falling apart from them.

SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR in PARIS

On April 21^st, the K-Pop Wave Concert took place in Thailand which brought Korean idols, their fans, and a lot of excitement. Korea’s Arirang TV paired up with Thailand’s radio station, PD Creation to bring music from Korea to music fans in Thailand.  Not only that but all proceeds from the concert went to benefit the earthquake relief effort in Japan.  K-Pop artists’ who were in attendance: 2PM, Son Hoyoung, Kim Tae Woo, Infinite,Kim Hyung Joon, U-Kiss, and Park Jungmin.  An additional concert was held on a later date on April 29^thwhere TVXQ, Se7en, F. Cuz, MBLAQ, Teen Top, and the Boss performed.    Even though it has been a few months since the big event, Arirang TV has produced some interview and performance clips from the day.

When asked about the opportunity to perform in Thailand at the concert Se7en replied, “I am happy to be performing with other Korean singers.  We will make certain to perform our best.”   TVXQ were asked the same question and their response was, “We are happy to take part in a concert with such a good purpose.”

SMTOWN Live World Tour in Paris to be broadcasted on MBC

The SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR in PARIS concert placed on June 10th and 11th in Paris, France, will be edited into a one-hour show to be broadcasted on July 2nd on MBC .

The SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR started on August 2010 and it continues until now, going through cities such as Seoul, Shanghai, Los Angeles and more. The concert will also be placed in Tokyo in September and then probably going on Latin American land next year for the first time.

SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR in PARIS has also attracted the local media. Le Monde and Le Figaropublished articles entitled “Hallyu Strikes Europe” and “The Korean Wave Hits Zénith” respectively.

This happens after seeing the massive response this concert obtained once SME announced their visit for the first time on Parisian territory. The ticket sales website server crashed on May 16th once it was open for presale. Then 10 days later, the ticket sales opened again, and everything was sold out in just 15 minutes! Because of this, 300 fans gathered in front of the Louvre Museum, Paris, to request for an additional date which sold out in 10 minutes.

It looks like the Hallyu wave is taking around the globe and pretty awesome things will be coming soon for the K-pop lovers.
