Heechul Reveals His New Haircut Before Military Enlistment

On August 31, Heechul revealed his new haircut for his fans to see through twitter.

Heechul took intimate photos with Kim Jang Hoon and Siwon, titling the one with Kim Jang Hoon, "Long Hair Versus Short Hair." As it is seen, Kim Jang Hoon has a long and wavy hairstyle while Heechul simply has a short and sharp hairstyle. He jokingly added how he looks like "Lady Chunja" which means a lady with an eccentric image and personality..

Netizens gave comments such as, "Even with short hair, he looks like a top star" and "His new hairstyle doesn't hinder him from looking good."

Heechul later replied by saying, "I hope I'm not causing too much trouble with my military enlistment. I'm really happy that I'm receiving a lot of positive comments - it's really helping me get ready for the military. I will be seeing my members again in one month so no worries."

Heechul, along with his fellow Super Junior members, have been busy promoting their 5th album's title song, "Mr. Simple." Many fans were surprised by Heechul's sudden enlistment into the military right after the release of Super Junior's 5th album. Heechul will be serving for the military base in Chungnam - he will first go through four weeks of basic training and then he will officially serve in the military for twenty-three months.

Super Junior to continue activities with 8 members

Super Junior will continue to promote their music as an 8-membered group.
Following fellow member Kang In, Super Junior’s Kim Heechul has decided to enlist into the Korean military. He will be leaving for basic training at a camp in Choonam Nonsan for four weeks, starting on September 1st. Afterwards, he will embark on his official military duties for 23 months.
Super Junior put on their last “Mr. Simple” performance with Heechul on SBS’s ’Inkigayo‘, and they took home the ‘Mutizen’ award for that week. Afterwards, Heechul shared a profound tweet with his fans, saying, “To my friend JungSoo (Leeteuk’s birth name) and to all of my Super Junior members, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m sure all our fans know I’m not good at expressing my feelings, so I’ll leave you with that. I’ll be back– take care of yourselves!”
Member Choi Si Won has also temporarily ceased all activities with Super Junior, due his role in the upcoming drama, ‘Poseidon‘. It was decided that it was too difficult for him to continue promoting with the group, since his filming for the drama will takes place in areas away from the city.
Nevertheless, Super Junior will continue to put on phenomenal performances on stage, even without these two beloved members.

SuJu’s Leeteuk Sheds Tears as Heechul Says his Final Thanks at his Last Performance before Enlistment

SuJu’s Leeteuk Sheds Tears as Heechul Says his Final Thanks at his Last Performance before Enlistment

Earlier today, Super Junior performed their latest song “Mr. Simple” live on SBS’s “Inkigayo.” Tonight’s show marked Heechuls last performance before he enlists in the Korean Army on Thursday, September 1st. Unfortunately, Choi Si Won could not be part of the emotional stage because he was busy filming his upcoming drama “Poseidon.” Despite sustaining an injury while shooting "Dream Team 2," Donghae joined the members onstage and sang sitting on a chair. Meanwhile, Super Junior received their second consecutive Mutizen Award on “Inkigayo.”
Super Junior’s leader Leeteuk cried as he gave his thank you speech and expressed his sorrow at Heechul’s temporary withdrawal from the group. Leeteuk tearfully stated, “Thank you all for giving us such a huge award. Thank you to all of our SM family, and I wanted to say thank you Heechul, and I love you.”
Heechul added, “Today was my last performance, and I wanted to say thanks to our Super Junior members. I’m thankful to my fellow younger members for always following me and my friend, Jungsoo (Leeteuk), for always smiling through difficult times. Thank you to all of our managers and crew for putting up with my bad temper. Lastly, I love our fans. I’ll come back safely, stay healthy!”
Meanwhile, today’s episode of “Inkigayo” showcased the talents of Super Junior, miss A, SISTAR, INFINITE, G.NA, MBLAQ, T-Ara, Teen Top, Dal Shabet, Hwanhee, NS Yoonji, CS Numbers, Nine Muses, Stellar, and HITT. Check out the performances here!

Daegu IAAF 2011 line up- JYJ, Suju, BOA, Kara and more!!!!

Up until now, IAAF World Championship 2011 at Daegu (South Korea) has been the most expected event of the year, not only by the sport maniacs, or those with full-on national spirit, but also with K-Pop fans.
Within this year, Korea has been hosting several international events, including ICAAP10 (with JYJ being there honorary ambassador, bringing huge success up until this point  with tremendous support from fans around the world) and at a greater significance, both in size and impact, the IAAF 2011 at Daegu. Korea has been making such good use if its national resources and strength, not only to provide great facilities for the event but also to attract a lot of attention from the press, and also, the people, not limited within Korea, but to the international extent.
With the Welcome Night on Aug 26 at Duryu Park, starting from 19:30, the event is planned with the ambition to show off the Korean tradition and culture, and South Korea today through different types of performance from different art groups. The highlight of the night (for so many Kpop fans out there) would definitely have to be the performances of the top Kpop artists, that till now, the line up is filled with SUPER STARS like: Super Junior, Kara, BOA and other bands. Ending with the Firework Display show at 83Tower (now this is what was on their website, but isn’t that the 63 building instead of 83????)
Now that’s H-U-G-E!!!!!!!!
Well, not letting the (obviously-expected) success from the Welcome Night  slip, IAAF 2011 would end on Sep 4 at Daegu stadium with yet another KPOP fever and spectacular Firework Display show. Until now, the line up for the Closing ceremony has still been a question mark for fans and those who are interested. This afternoon, however, the IAAF 2011′s twitter page has announced one of the artists/ bands to be performing on the night would be JYJ!!!!!!!!!! This brought about such a huge wave in Cassies community since we’re all yearning for JYJ’s next public appearance, and even greater, being one of the representatives for the host country in an international event.

So far, the tickets for Daegu have all been sold out/ nearly sold out :) and the ceremonies are unlikely to be broadcasted so fans, let’s hope our idols do well in showing off their country, and altogether, let’s wish for an extremely successful Daegu IAAF 2011!!!!!!!!

Alexander Congratulates U-KISS On Their Third Anniversary

Alexander Congratulates U-KISS On Their Third Anniversary

Alexander may still be under an open contract with NH Media, but his days as a member of U-KISS are definitely over. This, however, has not left him angry and as his official twitter shows, his strong spiritual connection is a driving force in his positivity. He even talks very openly about U-KISS in a positive way, as he puts it, it's not a "taboo" topic.
External from soompi image
Today he posted a number of tweets that wished the group well on it's third anniversary, their comeback, and he talked about how he thinks of his time in U-KISS with pride. To see someone react with positivity, despite what may or may not have happened, is inspiring for those who struggle with positivity. He even told his fans that U-KISS was not a taboo subject so they could mention it to him, so if you send him tweets and worry about what to say, now you know!
But has the departure of Alexander and Kibum always been this smooth?
On February 23rd of this year it was officially announced that U-KISS members Kibum and Alexander were leaving the group. Alexander was reported to have left for personal reasons and Kibum was reported to have left to focus on his Piro Piro character business with his older brother, Kim Hyung Joon from SS501, which seems to not have been the case. Kibum's contract was fully terminated but Alexander would remain under an open contract with NH Media.
I am sure that some have wondered if there were hard feelings, especially by Kibum. It was revealed after his departure that he had sat down with the company about a member replacement. He had signed a ten year contract with NH Media but had only served three. On a episode of tvN's morning show Brunch he revealed that although idols can be severely fined if they try and break a contract before it ends, the company itself faces no ramifications. He even talked about how the group had received no money from digital or physical album sales, and CF money was split between the company and the group, and then split again between the members. He was very forward and honest on this show and such revelations prompted the question of slave contracts. Though Kibum was very honest about his departure, he didn't seem to harbor much hate.
Alexander seems to be content with his position and Kibum has moved on to being very involved with the company with his brothers. So no matter what bad things have happened, and the pain Kiss-Me's felt with their departure, we can be happy knowing that both of them have found happiness.

Super Junior wins Inkigayo

SBS’s “Inkigayo” is back once again, and this week’s show was full of amazing and fun performances from the top promoting K-pop artists!
Aside from the usual stages, G.NA made her comeback this week while STELLAR made their debut. Meanwhile, T-ara and miss A said goodbye as they wrapped up their promotions this week.
The ‘Take 7‘ nominees were MBLAQ (“Mona Lisa“), T-ara (“Roly-Poly“), INFINITE (“Be Mine“), miss A (“Good Bye Baby“), Dal Shabet (“Bling Bling“), SISTAR (“So Cool“) and Super Junior (“Mr. Simple“).
Super Junior won the ‘Mutizen’ award for the second week running. The ending scene was full of emotions, especially for leader Leeteuk, as it represented the last time Heechul would be on stage with Super Junior in a while before he leaves for the army in a couple of days time.
Congratulations, Super Junior and good luck to Heechul!

SEPER JUNIOR mr simple no.1

Saturday, August 27, 2011

Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2011 - August Week 4

Super Junior's "Mr. Simple" continues to increase their lead on our chart and has repeated as No. 1. While last week was a close call, this week they are a clear cut No. 1.  "Mr. Simple" is the title song of their fifth album of the same name. This song and album has received even better responses than anticipated. Perhaps it has something to do with the groups' uncertain near future as more members are going to be enlisted in army: Heechul just announced he will join the army next Thursday (September 1) and Leeteuk is expected to join him soon.  Fans are cherishing every bit of Super Juniors' songs and performances now.
Sistar's "So Cool" leapfrogged many songs and lands on the No. 2 spot in just its second week on the chart.  This song should have the best chance to become the next No. 1 song. Girl power has continuously been strong this year as groups seem to take turns, generatinghit songs. It's Sistar's turn now and they may have their first ever chart topping hit.
2NE1's "Ugly" remained steady at No. 3.  Again this song is hurt by the group's lack of performances compared to other artists in the top 10.  Last week, their only appearance was on SBS Inkigayo while normally but most chart topping artists appear on all four music shows. While the quality of the song and fans' perception is not affected by how frequent an artist goes on promoting the song, its disadvantage is apparant on a ranking system like us that involves singers' media exposures.

There are two new songs in the top 10.  Rookie girl group DalShabet already has three mini-albums under their belt and they are poised to make a run at the top new artist of 2011.  Their latest hit "Bling Bling" helped their cause as it jumps 16 spots to No. 6 this week.  It is a trendy number with a bright and cool feel.  Fans who listen to this dance number will find themselves shaking their body to the beat.  This is DalShabet's first ever top 10 hit.
At No. 8 is Superstar K Season 1 winner Seo In Kook's latest single "Shake It Up". While Seo In Kook is known for his R&B ballads, he is releasing an upbeat song this time to match the season,.  "Shake It Up" is a dance number reminiscent of the music style popular in the 90’s and 2000.

f(x)'s Victoria Shares her Doll-Like Selca

Victoria of girl group f(x) shows off her doll-like beauty.
On August 26th via her me2day Victoria wrote, “Today is Jeju.   See you later.”  Along with her post Victoria uploaded the following photo as well.
In the photo Victoria is seen cutely posing for the camera as she rested her chin on her hand and with the other hand held up the camera.  Her large, doe-like eyes and porcelain white skin were the focus of the image.  In the photo her flawless beauty shone through giving the impression that she was a doll, thus the picture caught the attention of netizens.

Here are some of the reactions netizens had over Victoria’s picture: “You are so perfect, that in your photo you look unrealistic.  You are great a dancing and sing as well.”, “Are you a doll?”, and “I’m not a doll.  I wish I were though.  You’re beautiful.”

In response, fans tweeted back, “What’s the matter oppa? Isn’t it something you could quickly settle through the company?”, “What in the world is the problem? I’m worried for you”, and “Because of your tweet, I can’t focus on my work. You always have us [fans] to cheer you on. Be strong.”
What could possibly be wrong with leader Leeteuk?
